A 55-year-old man was arrested after he tried to meet a fictitious 5-year-old, who he thought was real.
Investigators were contacted Thursday morning after someone advised they were in communication with Michael Lunaday, 55, who was arranging to meet with a 5-year-old for sex.
The confidential informant worked with the investigators at the sheriff’s office to assist on a sting operation.
Lunaday had communicated explicit details to the confidential informant and agreed to meet with them at a home in Mustang.
Investigators used hidden cameras, and deputies were staged inside of the home to arrest Monday.
Based on Lunaday’s explicit confessions while at the home, investigators served a search warrant at Lunaday’s home and arrested him on Thursday after $400 was exchanged between the confidential informant and a fictitious foster parent providing the child.
Lunday, who is an Oklahoma City based attorney, was arrested for lewd acts with a child under 12 and soliciting child prostitution.
Lunday was transported to the Canadian County Detention Facility, and his bond was set at $200,000.
“This sting operation was carried out in a very professional manner by my investigators, and the confidential informant’s role in Lunaday’s arrest was paramount in making the operation a success,” Canadian County Sheriff Chris West said.
